Hands-on

Required level of previous knowledge and experience of participants: intermediate to advanced

Hands-on objectives:

  • Explain the clinical role of CT aortography in the diagnosis and treatment planning of aortic disease
  • Explain the principles of operation and protocols of CT imaging in the diagnosis of aortic disease
  • Explain the reformation techniques we use in post-processing of CT aortography
  • Explain in detail how to analyse CT aortography (patency, lumen, wall) for the purpose of planning endovascular treatment
  • Show examples of CT aortography in thoracic aortic diseases
  • Show examples of CT aortography in diseases of the thoracoabdominal aorta
  • Show examples of CT aortography in diseases of the abdominal aorta with iliac arteries
  • Explain how a vascular surgeon makes a clinical decision based on CT aortography
  • Explain how an interventional radiologist makes a clinical decision based on CT aortography
  • Provide participants with complete information so that after the workshop they can critically and independently analyse CT aortography and make decisions about endovascular treatment

Who is the hands-on for:

  • Radiologists, interventional radiologists, interventional cardiologists, vascular surgeons and cardiac surgeons who routinely perform endovascular interventions on the aorta and in the aortoiliac segment and who are interested in learning and deepening their knowledge of clinical decision-making based on CT aortography.
